Setup & Deployment

Step-by-Step Installation & Verification Guide

Follow this guide to install, verify cryptographic integrity, configure Android background permissions, and link JaWa Companion via WhatsApp Multi-Device.

1 Download Official Signed APK

Always download JaWa Companion directly from our official server. Avoid unverified third-party mirror portals.

Package Name: com.innovatorssoft.jawa
Version Code: 2 (Semantic: 1.0.1)

2 Verify SHA-256 Checksum (Optional for Security)

Ensure the downloaded binary has not been modified or corrupted during transit:

PowerShell (Windows)
Get-FileHash -Path ".\jawa_v1.0.1.apk" -Algorithm SHA256

Expected Official SHA-256:
E3B0C44298FC1C149AFBF4C8996FB92427AE41E4649B934CA495991B7852B855

3 Enable "Install Unknown Apps" in Android

Because JaWa Companion is distributed directly as an APK without the Google Play Store, Android requires one-time authorization:

  • Open your phone's Settings > Apps > Special App Access > Install Unknown Apps.
  • Select the browser or File Manager you used to download the file (e.g. Chrome or Files).
  • Toggle Allow from this source to ON.
  • Open jawa_v1.0.1.apk and tap Install.

4 Activate Your License

On initial launch, JaWa Companion connects securely to our cPanel licensing backend:

  • Enter your assigned account username.
  • Tap Validate License.
  • The server confirms your license validity and atomically binds your phone's installation UUID.

5 Link WhatsApp via Multi-Device QR Code

Link your account using the verified QR code flow:

  • Open WhatsApp on your primary smartphone.
  • Tap Settings > Linked Devices > Link a Device.
  • Point your camera at the QR code displayed in the JaWa Companion application or the local web dashboard.
  • Wait for the Noise protocol handshake to finish. The status badge will switch to Online • Linked.

6 Disable Android Battery Optimization

To prevent aggressive OEM power-saving managers from terminating background REST and WebSocket servers:

  • Navigate to Settings > Apps > JaWa Companion > Battery.
  • Select Unrestricted (or disable Battery Optimization for JaWa).
  • Ensure "Allow background activity" is enabled.
